Inspirational Sheffield charity champion Aroob surprised by hero Joe Root after Young Supporter Award
Aroob, a Sheffield teenager who advocates for disabled children’s rights, received the Young Supporter Award from Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and was later surprised with a personal meeting from her cricket hero Joe Root at Lord’s. Root congratulated her, spent time with her family, and added to a memorable week that included watching England defeat India in an ODI. Aroob continues her fundraising and advocacy work in memory of her late brother, Ayaan, promoting equal rights for disabled children nationwide.
