Lesser known car park that will save you £15 to visit North Yorkshire beauty spot
Visitors to Bolton Abbey Estate can avoid the official £15 parking charge by using a lesser-known free roadside car park near Barden Bridge, beside the River Wharfe. The car park is about a mile from Strid Wood and provides access to the estate via the Dales Way, with a roughly 15-minute walk to The Strid. Visitors are warned not to confuse it with another car park in nearby Barden and to take care around The Strid, a hazardous stretch of river.
