Originally from Kenya, Sandra is an international journalist and White House correspondent based in Washington, D.C. She has covered President Obama's historic visit to Cuba and meeting with President Castro. She also covered the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. For the United Nations Development Programme, Sandra co-created a game to curb education corruption in Moldova. Sandra promotes worthwhile causes whenever she is able, such as HIV/AIDS awareness (with the GapBuster program), heart health (with the American Heart Association), African culture (as host of the 2nd annual Mother Africa and her Talents show), and positive self-image (speaking to university students about the importance of inner beauty). After the 2015 terrorist attacks in Garissa, Kenya, she organized a candlelight vigil where balloons were released into the sky, one for each victim. .
