A grey Audi A3 and an Arriva 10A bus collided on Warrington Road at the junction with Chatsworth Road in Rainhill shortly before 10:30 a.m. on 31 July 2026. Police, ambulance services and an air ambulance attended, while road closures, a cordon and diversions affecting the 10A route were put in place. Witnesses described the crash as serious, and police appealed for CCTV, dashcam footage and other information.
