Britto Lorence was sentenced to an 18-month community order, including 150 hours of unpaid work, after pleading guilty to performing a sex act under a blanket beside a woman and her young son on an Emirates flight from Dubai to Newcastle. The woman reported the incident to cabin crew and said it left her deeply distressed. A judge refused Lorence’s attempt to withdraw his guilty plea, citing the seriousness of the offence and the presence of a young child, and ordered him to pay £914 in costs and a victim surcharge.

Caitlin Anderson, a 25-year-old customer service administrator from Glasgow, admitted being disruptive on a Ryanair flight bound for Newcastle. Cabin crew contacted police after she confronted another passenger, behaved erratically and tore out her own hair extensions. Officers arrested her after the flight landed, and she was initially taken to hospital amid concerns that substance use may have contributed to her behaviour. Newcastle Magistrates' Court fined her £1,477, with an additional £85 in costs and a £591 victim surcharge.
