Reform UK reported Green Party leader Zack Polanski to the police after he shared an Instagram post containing an image of a T-shirt showing a guillotine beneath the words “We’re only making plans for Nigel.” Nigel Farage and Reform representatives described the image as potentially inciting violence or murder, while the Green Party said Polanski accepted a collaborative post without seeing all of its images, promptly removed it and condemned the message. The Metropolitan Police said officers were making enquiries into a third-party report, although Polanski had not been contacted. The photographer who took and posted the image claimed responsibility, called it satirical and said it was not intended as a threat. Reform also asked the Greater London Authority to examine whether Polanski breached its code of conduct, amid heightened concern about the security of public figures following the murder of Ann Widdecombe and earlier attacks on Jo Cox and David Amess.
