Cruz Beckham has released his six-song debut EP, Wear & Tear, with his band Cruz Beckham And The Breakers. He credited his girlfriend, singer-songwriter Jackie Apostel, with encouraging his music career, helping him meet the band and supporting his first tour. Beckham, who has written music since childhood, is scheduled to perform UK festival shows in Norwich, Sheffield and at Reading & Leeds. The release comes amid a public dispute between his family and his older brother Brooklyn Peltz Beckham.

Ricky Gervais said he would marry his longtime partner, author Jane Fallon, primarily to avoid inheritance tax, noting that they have lived together and shared finances since 1982. Fallon recently underwent successful surgery for breast cancer. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, became known as a celebrity gossip blogger before moving into reality television.

Irish musician Glen Hansard, frontman of The Frames and an Oscar-winning artist, has died aged 56 after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Lucan, Dublin. Broadcaster Ryan Tubridy, writer Dawn O’Porter and rock band Aslan led tributes, praising Hansard’s exceptional musicianship, compassion and support for homeless people and Ireland. Hansard’s family, including his three-year-old son Christy, were described by his agents as deeply shocked and heartbroken; he had recently announced an Irish tour for October and November.
