I am a Cambodian interpreter, journalist, and storyteller with over a decade of experience spanning international military cooperation, media, and human rights advocacy. My career began in 2010 as an interpreter and translator for the U.S. Army during multinational military exercises in Cambodia, including Angkor Sentinel and CARAT Cambodia. I supported communication between U.S. and Cambodian forces, helping foster mutual understanding during joint operations. From 2014 to 2017, I worked as a reporter for Radio Free Asia (RFA) in Phnom Penh, covering politics, environmental issues, and social justice. My journalism aimed to hold power accountable and give voice to underserved communities. Since 2018, I’ve continued reporting as a freelance journalist based in Kampot, contributing to both local and international outlets. My work focuses on in-depth reporting around governance, human rights, and community struggles. In 2024, I received a national award for an investigative feature on the challenges faced by rural Cambodians impacted by development projects. That recognition reaffirmed my commitment to ethical and impactful journalism. Beyond media, I served in 2013 as Vice Rector in charge of international cooperation at Chamroeun Poly-Technology University and have held leadership roles in the private sector as a Sales Director and General Manager. Most recently, I completed a 17-day assignment ending 1 July 2025 as Cambodian media liaison for Japan media, assisting foreign journalist with interpretation, field coordination, and research. I continue to use my multilingual skills and cross-sector experience to support truth, transparency, and public dialogue.

Since January 2024, I’ve been running a Free Class and small library in Cambodia. I started this project on my own, using my personal savings to build and maintain the space. It began as a simple idea—to give local children a chance to learn, read, and grow in a safe environment. I’ve been teaching the classes myself and taking care of the daily needs of the library. Over time, some media in Cambodia noticed my work and shared it with the public. That support helped a lot. Many kind people also started buying mangoes from my farm, and that income has helped me keep the class going. It’s not always easy, but this has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I’m proud to continue, step by step, with the hope of creating a better future for the children.
