Siham Shamalakh is a ME/ Gaza reporter/ journalist based in Cairo, Egypt. I’m a journalist based in Cairo, Egypt, originally from Gaza, where I lived for over 20 years. Holding Egyptian citizenship, I relocated to Cairo during the war, but my connection to Gaza drives my reporting. I cover all developments in Gaza, including conflict, humanitarian issues, and regional politics. Living through the realities of Gaza and reporting from the ground has given me a deep understanding of the social, political, and human dynamics of the region, making my coverage nuanced, accurate, and informed. My work has appeared in The Daily Telegraph, The Washington Post, Business Insider (producer), Al Jazeera English (transcriber), and Al-Ahram Online.
