Urmston property shut down over anti-social behaviour
A property on Granville Road in Urmston was placed under a three-month full closure order after Greater Manchester Police, Trafford Council and London & Quadrant Housing Trust presented evidence of threatening behaviour, harassment, weapons incidents, noise nuisance and disorder. The order bars everyone, including the tenant, from entering the property; its locks were changed and additional security installed. Neighbours, particularly elderly and vulnerable residents, reportedly expressed relief, while the landlord may pursue longer-term tenancy enforcement.

Man in his 60s Seriously Injured After Motorcycle Crash in Timperley
A man in his 60s was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after his Kawasaki ZR900 motorcycle crashed into a lamp post on Wood Lane in Timperley at 8:02 p.m. on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses and for CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile-phone footage.

Three Trafford spots nominated in Asian Restaurant Awards
Dadar and Jadugar in Altrincham and Sai Surbhi in Urmston have been nominated for the Asian Restaurant Awards. They are among 19 shortlisted Greater Manchester restaurants, the largest regional representation in the country. Winners will be announced at a Manchester Deansgate Hotel ceremony on September 7, with public voting available online. Man arrested after two sexual assaults in Rochdale
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of rape after two sexual assaults were reported in Rochdale at Broadfield Park and Milnrow Memorial Park. Investigators are seeking a Black man reportedly wearing a three-piece suit or smart black clothing and carrying a suitcase, who was seen on CCTV leaving Coco Lounge around 5am. Greater Manchester Police have increased patrols in the affected areas and are appealing for CCTV, doorbell, dashcam and mobile-phone footage.

Police appeal for witnesses following suspected stabbing in Flixton
Greater Manchester Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspected stabbing following a fight involving a group of men in Flixton. A 21-year-old man was found with injuries consistent with knife wounds on Brook Road and remains in serious condition in hospital. One person has been arrested, and police are seeking information through 101, the GMP website, or Crimestoppers.

Hardest GP surgeries in Trafford to contact over the phone
New survey data shows wide variation in how easily patients can contact GP surgeries by phone in Trafford. Riddings Family Health Centre ranked highest with strong overall satisfaction, while West Timperley Medical Centre scored lowest. Two Trafford buildings added to 'at-risk' register
Two Trafford buildings, Duckworth’s Essence Factory and a former canal warehouse in Altrincham, have been added to SAVE Britain's Heritage at-risk register. The factory, purchased by the Church of Scientology, remains unused amid redevelopment delays including the discovery of asbestos. The Georgian warehouse, known as Bridge Works, has a redevelopment plan for 32 apartments accepted in principle following multiple amendments aimed at preserving its heritage value. Trafford to be hotter than Santorini on Friday in heatwave
Forecasts indicate a heatwave will push Trafford temperatures to around 31C on Friday, exceeding those expected in Santorini. Warm conditions build through the week with sunny periods and rising temperatures from Wednesday onward.
