Height shouldn’t matter when it comes to matters of the heart
Sophia Money-Coutts argues that height should play a far smaller role in dating and relationships. Drawing on a Hily survey suggesting that one in five dating-app users exaggerates their height, as well as her own experiences as a tall woman, she says height preferences are superficial, rooted in outdated ideas about masculinity and protection, and capable of distracting people from more important qualities and red flags. She highlights the scrutiny faced by couples such as Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum and concludes that falling in love tends to make physical characteristics such as height much less significant.
