NHS warfarin advice as food and drink can affect how it works
NHS guidance warns that certain foods, drinks and medications can interfere with warfarin, advising patients to avoid large amounts of alcohol, cranberry products and grapefruit juice. Foods high in vitamin K should be eaten cautiously, and patients are urged to consult their doctor before altering their diet or starting new medicines. Several drug categories, including NSAIDs, antibiotics and statins, may interact with warfarin, and herbal remedies such as St John’s wort should be avoided.

Some people can avoid £180 TV Licence fee and get it free - eligibility
The annual TV licence fee has risen to £180, but households with a licence holder aged 75 or older who receives Pension Credit can qualify for a free licence, while people who are blind can receive a 50 percent concession before applying for a free licence. The increase took effect in April 2026 under the inflation-linked settlement. BBC director general Matt Brittin called the current licence model outdated in testimony to MPs, arguing for a future change in funding. Users can check whether they need a licence or qualify for reduced rates.
