First picture of murderer who hid remains of former lodger in concrete
Christopher Wright, 73, was convicted at Sheffield Crown Court of murdering his former lodger Richard Dyson, whose remains were found in a concrete-filled barrel at a Barnsley property in July 2025. Wright was also convicted of multiple firearms offences and attempting to prevent a lawful burial, while Karl Schwalbe, 72, was convicted of conspiring to obstruct justice. Investigators linked Wright to the disposal of Dyson’s remains through phone records, CCTV, forensic evidence, firearms analysis, bank records and a trailer bearing Wright’s name. Dyson had been missing since November 2019, leaving his family without answers for six years.
