Sheffield Eagles defeated Hunslet 28-26 in a closely contested Betfred Championship match. Sheffield built a lead through tries from Joe Brown, Connor Bower, Alex Foster, Billy Walkley and Greg Eden, but two late tries by Hunslet’s Aiden Doolan reduced the gap to two points. A missed conversion in the final minute secured the Eagles’ victory, with Sheffield next due to face Doncaster.

Sheffield Eagles coach Craig Lingard says his side must quickly recover from a narrow defeat by Oldham before facing Hunslet. Lingard highlighted poor starts to both halves and the failure to secure the final kickoff as key mistakes, while stressing that Sheffield can compete with top-six teams ahead of the playoffs. Hunslet pose a difficult challenge after consecutive wins despite player shortages and positional changes. Sheffield Eagles fullback Greg Eden says the club’s six-game winning streak has created strong confidence and team unity ahead of Sunday’s Championship clash away to Oldham. Eden, who joined in June and has made an immediate impact following Matty Marsh’s injury, believes Sheffield’s form has arrived at the right time as the team pushes for the playoffs. Oldham sit third and had lost only three games before a convincing defeat to Doncaster, but Eden feels Sheffield can exploit the setback and continue climbing the table.

Sheffield Eagles extended their winning streak to five matches with a 56–6 home victory over Rochdale Hornets in the Betfred Championship. Sheffield led 16–0 at halftime and continued to dominate after the break, with Greg Eden scoring twice and Billy Walkley also crossing twice. Rochdale's only points came from Lewis Hatton. Sheffield will next host Halifax Panthers.
