Why celebrities across the world love Moon’s tweeds and wool cloth
Yorkshire mill Abraham Moon & Sons is benefiting from renewed global interest in British tailoring, tweed and wool fabrics. The 189-year-old vertically integrated company employs more than 200 people, exports to over 50 countries and supplies designers, fashion brands and tailors. Celebrities including Billie Eilish, Shania Twain and Joanna Lumley have worn garments made with its cloth, while television shows such as Bridgerton, Peaky Blinders, The Gentlemen and The Traitors have helped popularize traditional British fabrics. Moon is modernizing heritage checks and tweeds for fashion-conscious consumers, expanding womenswear and accessories, and promoting British lambswool through cooperation with the British Wool Marketing Board. The company also reflects wider changes in tailoring, including increased participation by women and growing demand for durable, high-quality and locally made clothing.

‘Buy new from us or pre-loved or rent’: Nobody’s Child AW26 collection lands in Harrogate and Leeds with all-occasion choices
Nobody’s Child chief executive Jody Plows discusses the brand’s successful Harrogate and Leeds stores, its expansion from a digital-first dress label into an all-occasion lifestyle brand, and the forthcoming AW26 collection. The company is emphasizing lower-impact fabrics, clothing rental, pre-loved resale and Digital Product Passports, with more than 8,000 garments rented since late 2024 and all products expected to carry passports from next year. Marks & Spencer remains its largest retail partner and shareholder, while future growth is focused on northern stores, knitwear, outerwear, footwear and accessories. Plows says cautious consumers, supply-chain pressures and tariffs are challenging the business, but argues that quality, longevity and authentic sustainability commitments can maintain customer loyalty.
