Danny's Charity Cafe fundraises for more hospital support staff
ASK Danny, a charity founded by Maria Lynch after the death of her son Danny, is opening a café at Manor Garden Centre in Swindon. Profits will fund healthcare assistants specialising in learning disabilities to provide weekend support at Great Western Hospital, where such specialist nursing cover currently operates only on weekdays. The charity is also seeking donations of café equipment and provides teddy bears and sensory resource boxes to help patients with learning disabilities or autism. Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and NHS representatives welcomed the partnership and its contribution to improving hospital care.
