Closing Colne street means children can play safely, mums say
Residents of Belgrave Road in Colne have been closing their street to through-traffic on Wednesday evenings so children with special educational needs can play safely, a move families say has transformed their daily lives. The sessions, part of the national Play Streets scheme backed by Pendle Council, allow children to play, learn skills such as cycling and build confidence in a safe environment. Councillor Sarah Cockburn-Price expects final approval for formal closure soon, with parents continuing to run the sessions voluntarily.
