Morocco border crisis as riots erupt with cars on fire after migrants storm Spain
Unrest and fires were reported in Morocco’s Beni-Enzar near the Spanish territory of Melilla after thousands of migrants attempted to cross into Spain, with additional arrivals reported near Ceuta. Ceuta authorities said 1,500–2,000 people had crossed over the previous ten days and hundreds more arrived on July 30. Spain rejected a request to declare a national emergency but announced that 60 armed-forces personnel would reinforce the border. At least 17 people reportedly died while attempting to swim to Ceuta.

Massive search for Boeing 737 cargo plane that vanished off Asia coast
A Boeing 737 cargo aircraft operated by K2 Airways disappeared off the coast of Karachi after reporting a navigation system fault. Radar data showed rapid altitude loss and a sharp change in direction before contact was lost about 155 nautical miles west of Karachi. Search and rescue operations are under way in the Arabian Sea. The 27‑year‑old aircraft, originally delivered to Aeroflot and later converted to a freighter, is the airline’s only plane. No cause has been determined, and investigators will review flight data and any recovered wreckage. If fatalities are confirmed, it would be Pakistan’s first fatal air crash since 2020.

Jet2, TUI, Ryanair and easyJet introducing strict boarding pass rule change
UK airlines are tightening boarding pass rules as summer travel volumes rise, with several carriers increasing emphasis on digital passes to ease airport congestion. EasyJet relies primarily on mobile passes except at airports lacking support, while Ryanair has moved fully digital. Jet2 and TUI still allow both formats, with differing check‑in windows. British Airways accepts digital or printed passes with offline and smartwatch options, and Wizz Air uses mobile passes with strict check‑in deadlines.
