Brit 'forced to bury husband in unmarked grave' after he died on Cape Verde holiday
A British widow described having to bury her husband in an unmarked grave after he died from severe gastroenteritis while on holiday in Cape Verde, with poor hotel conditions reported before his death. Law firm Irwin Mitchell, representing more than 2,500 people who fell ill in the region, is pursuing legal action involving multiple deaths linked to holidays booked through Tui. A second family from Scotland also reported the sudden death of a relative at another Cape Verde resort, raising concerns over hygiene and safety standards. Tui expressed condolences and said no complaints were made until media contact, while Irwin Mitchell emphasised the growing number of serious illness reports and its efforts to obtain answers and support for affected families.
