Councillors ‘reluctantly’ approve Arborfield 135 homes and greenspace
Wokingham Borough Council approved a plan to create a 17.73‑hectare natural park and allow up to 135 homes at Duck’s Nest Farm in Arborfield, despite concerns about traffic safety and the shrinking green gap between local communities. Councillors required a full ban on right turns into and out of the site, to be secured through a Traffic Regulation Order. The park will include paths, seating, signage and cycling links, connect to existing footpaths, and receive long‑term maintenance funding of £1.54 million. The wider development by David Wilson Homes includes 40 percent affordable housing and remains subject to legal agreements and wildlife protection licences.
