Thomas Njegovan is a journalist based in New York City; most recently a freelance reporter at WABC-TV in New York. Prior to working in the nation’s #1 local TV newsroom, Tom spent two years as a New York-based national correspondent for the launch of Nexstar Broadcasting’s cable news network ‘NewsNation,’ a move that followed 15 years as an anchor and reporter at Nexstar's WGN-TV in Chicago. He's criss-crossed America, covered the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and launched an award-winning investigative unit at the CBS-owned station in the nation's fourth-largest market. Along the way, Tom has reported and field-anchored from the scenes of many of the biggest stories of the past 2 decades— from the January 6th storming of the Capitol to the inaugurations of Presidents Trump and Obama, the horrible mass shootings on the Vegas Strip, at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub and in Sandy Hook, to the Boston Bombings and countless natural disasters. Along the way, he's served as a regular contributor to Nexstar's TV stations in major markets across the US and WGN radio in Chicago. A dual citizen of Canada and the US, Tom has also worked as an anchor and reporter in the Toronto, Calgary and Winnipeg markets. In print, his work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune and Michigan Avenue Magazine.

At KYW, I was dispatched to cover the war in Iraq live from the CBS News bureau in Baghdad, co-launched an award-winning investigative unit and in the span of 3 years was the personal recipient of 19 Emmy awards and nominations.
New York-based National Correspondent for cable news network 'NewsNation,' where I specialized in politics, the Covid pandemic and breaking news.
Along with daily live reports from New York City, I traveled the the US on the biggest stories of the day and led NewsNation's January 6th coverage live from Capitol Hill.
