Over 100 000 learners benefit from school feeding programme
Mary's Meals International, in partnership with Mavambo Orphan Care, is conducting a school feeding programme benefiting over 100,000 learners from approximately 126 schools in Harare and Mashonaland East Provinces of Zimbabwe. The programme, which began in July 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown, provides corn-soya blend meals to students during school days. The initiative has been praised for improving attendance, participation, and performance in schools, as well as for being a social protection mechanism against the impacts of pandemics and climate change. The programme aligns with Zimbabwe's National Development Strategy 1, aiming to reduce poverty and improve access to social services for vulnerable groups, and is seen as a step towards achieving Vision 2030's educational goals.

Through their superb skills and ground-breaking exploits, the Oworu brothers James and Matthew names held the same high esteem of those two Tsimba siblings at the 2018 Dairibord Rugby Festival which also matches that of the retired cricket playing siblings Andy and Grant Flower, soccer playing siblings Peter, the late Adam and Madinda Ndlovu. James caught up with Pachikoro and shared the other unknown side of himself.
