Micheal Ward told a London court that sexual activity with a woman in a car after a nightclub encounter was entirely consensual, denying charges of rape and sexual assault. The woman testified earlier that she felt confused, shut down during the encounter, and later reported distress to a friend and in an STI kit form. Ward described mutual attraction, flirtation, and active participation by the woman, saying she never indicated a desire to stop or leave. Jurors heard that the two exchanged cordial messages afterward. The trial remains ongoing.
