Afghan boxer Sharif Ahmadzai appeared in an Athens court accused of murdering Scottish woman Elisabeth-Jane Ross and stealing more than £8,500 from her bank accounts. His wife, Alaina Hall, reportedly alerted investigators after tracking his location, noticing suspicious messages sent from Ross’s phone and receiving threats. Ahmadzai allegedly admitted moving the body but denied the homicide allegations and did not enter a plea. He was ordered to remain in pre-trial detention while further evidence is gathered.

Three people, reported to be two adults and a child, died after falling from the 213-foot Harz Tower observation platform in Altenau, Germany. Emergency services were unable to save the victims, and the area was sealed off as forensic teams began work. Police indicated no evidence of third‑party negligence or structural fault, and a full investigation is underway. The tower’s operator, Harzturm GmbH, announced its closure for the following day. Public expressions of sympathy were shared on social media.
