Turkey boat horror as vessel with 115 on board goes up in flames and passengers leap into water to escape
A boat carrying 115 passengers caught fire off Fethiye in southwestern Turkey, reportedly after flames broke out in the kitchen at Katrancı Bay. Families and children jumped into the sea, while passing boats and Coast Guard vessels rescued those in the water. Eleven passengers were treated in hospital for smoke exposure, none seriously, and no deaths were reported. The vessel sustained extensive damage and reportedly began to sink, prompting an official investigation into the cause.
