Sefton MP claims hospital visits missed because of late post deliveries
Sefton Central MP Bill Esterson says constituents have missed important hospital appointment letters because of lengthy postal delays, which he attributes to Royal Mail prioritising parcels over letters. He has urged Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds to ensure services improve, while emphasizing that postal workers are not to blame. Royal Mail says mail is delivered daily across Sefton, acknowledges occasional short-term local problems, and reports that more than 93% of letters arrive on time and over 99% within a week. Ofcom is investigating Royal Mail’s failure to meet nationwide delivery targets.
