Police Investigating Alleged Pembroke Dock Attempted Robbery

Man, 63, arrested on suspicion of murder as woman found dead

St David's RNLI Rescues Kayakers Who Got Lost in Thick Fog
Two kayakers who became lost in thick fog near Ramsay Sound were rescued by St David’s RNLI after drifting about 5.5 miles from their intended location. Milford Haven Coastguard coordinated a search involving two RNLI lifeboats, St David’s Coastguard and a Coastguard Rescue Helicopter. The kayakers were found off Abereiddy, taken safely aboard and returned to the station. RNLI duty coxswain Mike Phillips advised coastal visitors to check tides and weather conditions and carry a waterproof means of calling for help.

Monkton son, 34, attacked mum and dragged her like a ragdoll
Lance Finnegan of Monkton was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after attacking his mother, including pushing, kicking, pulling her hair, dragging her and slamming her head into a flower pot. He refused to attend his trial and sentencing at Swansea Crown Court. The court heard he had nine previous convictions for 24 offences and was already subject to a suspended sentence. Judge Geraint Walters sentenced him to two years in prison, including activation of one month of the suspended sentence, and granted the victim a five-year restraining order.

Saundersfoot drug dealer had £11k of cocaine in his pants
Thomas Groves, 38, of Saundersfoot, was arrested in Carmarthen after police found 19.5 grams of high-purity cocaine worth approximately £11,400 concealed in his underwear. He pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply and was jailed for 27 months. Swansea Crown Court found that he had benefited from his offending by £28,132.17 and ordered him to repay that full amount under the Proceeds of Crime Act, despite his available assets being valued at £62,779.58.

Man Stole Boat and Drink-Drove While Visiting Pembrokeshire
Christopher Iredale, 37, of Nottingham, admitted stealing a boat and trailer from Porthgain Harbour and driving a Volkswagen Caddy while over the legal alcohol limit on the A487 near Croesgoch. His blood alcohol reading was 108 milligrams per 100 millilitres, against a legal limit of 80. Haverfordwest Magistrates' Court imposed a 12-month community order, including rehabilitation activity, unpaid work and alcohol abstinence monitoring, and disqualified him from driving for 14 months.

Haverfordwest Man Admits Stalking Woman and Following Her

Pembrokeshire businessman flying sea turtle during 5,000-mile journey
Rhossi, a critically endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtle rescued in cold-stunned condition from Anglesey in December 2023, is preparing for a 5,000-mile return to the Gulf of Mexico after nearly two years of rehabilitation at Anglesey Sea Zoo. Pembrokeshire businessman and qualified helicopter pilot Darren Briggs will fly the turtle to Buckinghamshire in a temperature-controlled crate, after which it will travel by road and British Airways cargo flight to Houston before release near Padre Island National Seashore. The journey is part of an international conservation effort involving teams from Wales, England and the United States.

Lampeter drink-driver ran over woman whilst over the limit
Victor Pana was sentenced to 14 months in prison and banned from driving for four years and five months after driving dangerously while almost three times over the legal alcohol limit in Lampeter. He narrowly avoided several collisions, struck and injured a woman beside a parked car, fled the scene and was later detained by members of the public. Pana pleaded guilty to three dangerous-driving offences, drink-driving and failing to stop after a crash.

Strumble Head in Pembrokeshire has been ranked the second-best UK location for viewing the partial solar eclipse on August 12, based on average cloud cover, elevation and expected solar obscuration. Angle RNLI launched for stranded yacht and medical emergency
Angle RNLI responded to two separate emergencies off the Pembrokeshire coast. The crew rescued a 32-foot yacht whose solo sailor had lost power and navigation lights in the Milford Haven Waterway, towing it safely to Milford Marina. About 12 hours later, Angle RNLI and Little and Broad Haven RNLI evacuated a 75-year-old woman who had fallen aboard a yacht near Skomer Island and transferred her to an ambulance for medical care.

Lifeboat rescue after medical emergency on yacht near Skomer
RNLI crews from Little and Broad Haven and Angle launched after a medical emergency was reported aboard a yacht near Skomer off the Pembrokeshire coast. The casualty was transferred to Angle RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat and taken to Milford Haven for further medical care. Milford father and son stopped by police for drug offences
Lee Miskin and his son Saul were arrested after Dyfed-Powys Police stopped their car in February 2024 and found cannabis, amphetamine, phones and cash. Phone evidence indicated Lee’s involvement in supplying cannabis and Saul’s offer to supply cocaine. Both pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court. Lee, who had previous drug convictions, received a nine-month sentence suspended for 12 months, while Saul received a two-year-and-three-month sentence suspended for 18 months; both were ordered to complete rehabilitation and unpaid-work requirements.

Man tried to bite police officer at a home in Pembroke Dock
Stephen Charge pleaded guilty at Swansea Crown Court to assaulting a police officer while being detained after officers responded to a suspected burglary in Pembroke Dock, and to possessing cannabis found in his shoe. The 53-year-old, who has 41 previous convictions for 86 offences and was already subject to a suspended sentence, tried to bite an officer and had to be told three times to stop. The judge declined to activate the earlier sentence, instead imposing a 12-month community order requiring 50 hours of unpaid work and 15 rehabilitation activity days, along with a £50 fine for breaching the suspended sentence order.

Man jailed for drunk behaviour, damage and Tesco shoplifting
Robert Parker, 43, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court to 24 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to stealing two bottles of wine from Tesco, two public order offences, criminal damage to a One Stop door, and being drunk and disorderly. The offences occurred across Aberystwyth, Haverfordwest and Milford Haven between July 9 and 25. He was also ordered to pay £255 in costs, £150 compensation to One Stop and £15 to Tesco.

Temporary speed limits from Haverfordwest to Milford Haven
Temporary speed limits and no-overtaking restrictions will be introduced intermittently on sections of the A4076 and A40 between Haverfordwest, Johnston, Steynton and Milford Haven to enable roadworks.
