Search goes on for Diane Sindall's real murderer 40 years on
Merseyside Police has renewed its appeal for information to identify the person who murdered Diane Sindall in Birkenhead in 1986. The investigation was reopened after new DNA evidence conclusively excluded Peter Sullivan, who spent 38 years in prison for the crime. Detectives are reviewing the original inquiry, reinterviewing witnesses and examining more than 200 new calls, while 575 people have been eliminated and 32 remain under review. Police say the DNA profile has not matched anyone on the national database and are offering a £20,000 reward, urging anyone who knows the killer to come forward.
