Two thirds of Brits 'hate' blue cheese - avoiding it for smell alone
A survey of 2,000 adults commissioned by Clawson Farms found that while most Brits enjoy cheese, many, especially Gen Z, avoid Stilton due to its smell, appearance and perceived strength. Despite claiming to be adventurous eaters, large numbers in this group have never tried blue cheese, with two‑thirds of self‑described Stilton haters having never tasted it. The Clawson Farms Wimbledon campaign encouraged visitors to try blue cheese, including a strawberries‑and‑Stilton pairing, with many reportedly surprised by the flavour combination. Mature cheddar, mozzarella and Red Leicester ranked as Britain’s most commonly eaten cheeses.
