South Korean culture no longer ‘niche’ interest in UK, poll finds
A poll of 2,000 UK adults found that South Korean culture has moved beyond niche appeal, with respondents showing strong interest in K-pop, Korean films and television, skincare, and cuisine. Squid Game, Parasite, BTS, BLACKPINK and Jungkook were among the most popular cultural exports, while Korean fried chicken, noodles and kimchi were the favourite dishes. Commissioned by Samsung TV Plus EMEA, the research also found that 37% would consider visiting South Korea a holiday of a lifetime and that many respondents want more accessible, free Korean entertainment content.
