Security stepped up at Yorkshire Groucho Club mansion after intruder footage
Security has been increased around Bretton Hall in Wakefield after online footage appeared to show urban explorers entering the fenced-off Grade II-listed mansion. Wakefield Council deputy leader John Thomas confirmed round-the-clock protection at the property and other council buildings while police investigate related intrusions at County Hall and alleged access to tunnels beneath Pinderfields Hospital. Bretton Hall has been mothballed since 2007 but is earmarked for redevelopment as Groucho Bretton, a 40-bedroom venue backed by ArtFarm and Rushbond Group. The partnership says it remains committed to advancing the approved redevelopment plans.
