TRA imposes anti-dumping duties on boom lifts from China
The UK Government has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties of 16.25% to 71.74% on boom lifts imported from China after the Trade Remedies Authority found evidence of dumping and injury to UK producers. The measures, effective 20 August 2026, will apply for up to six months or until a definitive remedy is introduced. The investigation was initiated following an application from Niftylift Limited, while the TRA continues its full assessment and requires importers to provide guarantees covering estimated duties.

TRA opens new safeguard investigation into PET
The UK Trade Remedies Authority has opened a safeguard investigation into imports of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), following an application from Alpek Polyester UK in Redcar. The investigation will assess whether increased imports between 2021 and 2025 have caused serious injury to UK PET production. If warranted, a temporary additional duty could apply to imports from most countries, while affected businesses are invited to submit information by 19 August 2026.
