Incidents of wrong-way driving on UK motorways skyrocket as major warning issued
Court records show that 31 drivers were charged with offences involving wrong-way driving on motorways in England and Wales during a 30-week period. The cases included drivers reversing along motorways or slip roads and attempting to avoid traffic, with penalties including fines, costs, penalty points and driving bans. National Highways recorded 947 reports of oncoming vehicles on English motorways over 12 months, while cautioning that the figure may include unconfirmed reports. The data follows a fatal wrong-way crash in County Kildare and prompted the RAC Foundation to warn of the potentially catastrophic consequences.

Ex-prince Andrew 'chased by stalker wearing balaclava' near his Sandringham home
A court heard that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly encountered and was chased by Alex Jenkinson, a masked man, near the former duke’s Sandringham property. Jenkinson denies public order charges involving Andrew and another man but has pleaded guilty to failing to provide a blood specimen. His trial is scheduled for December 21, while proceedings over Suffolk Police’s application for a Stalking Protection Order will continue after the court extended interim restrictions. The hearing proceeded without Jenkinson after he brought his support dog to court and was refused entry.
