Paul Scholes taken to court, handed six-month driving ban and given £1,472 fine
Former Manchester United footballer Paul Scholes has received a six-month driving ban after two separate cases involving speeding and failure to respond to police notices. His Range Rover was recorded at 37mph in a 30mph zone near Cleckheaton, while a Mercedes registered in his name was recorded at 49mph in another 30mph zone near Ashton-under-Lyne. Scholes was convicted in his absence under the Single Justice Procedure and ordered to pay fines, costs and surcharges totalling £1,472, as well as receiving six penalty points.
