Hidden Leamington tiles find sparks history rethink for shop
Frankie and Tom Griffiths discovered original Victorian wall and floor tiles while renovating a former butcher’s shop on Regent Street in Leamington Spa. The findings changed their plans for a New York-style deli sandwich shop, prompting them to restore historic features and research the building’s history back to 1828, when Joseph Edwards operated a butcher’s business there. The couple plan to display old advertisements and install handmade replica tiles, although the shop may initially open mainly as a takeaway if the interior is unfinished.

World Cup celebrated with knitted England display in Studley
Knitting enthusiasts in Studley created woollen figures of England footballers Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford to decorate a village postbox for the 2026 World Cup, adding knitted footballs to track goals scored during the tournament.
