Moment fox cubs are released back into wild after Leicester wall rescue
Three fox cubs rescued after becoming trapped between houses in Leicester have been released together into the countryside following more than four months of rehabilitation. Firefighters removed part of a garage wall to free them, and the cubs were treated for constriction injuries, including oxygen therapy for one that was critically ill. Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital prepared them for independence through outdoor housing, den-building and food-finding activities. They will receive supplementary feeding for at least two weeks while they adapt to hunting in the wild.
Moment fox cubs are released back into wild after Leicester wall rescue
Three fox cubs rescued after becoming trapped in a narrowing gap between houses in Leicester have been released back into the wild after more than four months of treatment and rehabilitation. Firefighters removed part of a garage wall on Easter Sunday, and one cub required oxygen therapy before the animals were treated by the RSPCA and cared for by Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital. After developing den-building and hunting skills in an outdoor pen, the cubs were released at a secret countryside location and will receive supplementary food for at least two weeks while they adjust to living independently.
