Leamington Spa swimmer Lauren Cox won bronze in the women's 50m backstroke at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, finishing behind Canada's Kyle Masse and Australia's Iona Alexandra Anderson in 27.56 seconds. After missing qualification for Paris 2024, Cox hopes the experience of competing under pressure against a world-class field will help her secure a place on the Team GB Olympic team for Los Angeles 2028. She will next compete at the European Championships in Paris, while National Lottery funding and Sport England investment support Team England athletes and the Glasgow Games.
