Plane bound for Manchester makes emergency landing in Putin's Russia as 230 people left stranded
Hainan Airlines flight HU753 from Beijing to Manchester made an emergency landing at Krasnoyarsk International Airport after a reported mechanical fault four hours into the journey over Siberia. The Airbus A330-300 landed safely, with no deaths, injuries or damage reported, but more than 230 passengers were temporarily stranded. Russian emergency services deployed 51 personnel and 15 vehicles, while the airline said it would send a replacement aircraft and provide passenger support. The diversion has heightened concerns for British travelers because the UK advises against travel to Russia and has limited consular access there.
