Eastleigh Mum Died After Being Offered Butt Lift Just Before Surgery
Eastleigh mother-of-three Hayley Dowell, 38, died in Istanbul on October 3, 2023, from a fat embolism after undergoing a Brazilian butt lift, liposuction and tummy tuck. The butt lift was reportedly offered by her surgeon only 10 minutes before surgery at a reduced price, giving Dowell and her husband about five minutes to decide. Her husband said he did not see her sign consent for the additional procedure and that its risks were not explained. Winchester coroner Nicholas Walker raised concerns about the practice and said he would issue a Prevention of Future Deaths report to the Secretary of State for Health and the General Medical Council, noting that UK regulations require a cooling-off period and proper consent.

Campsites urged to ban open flames as wildfire continues

Chandler's Ford Man Convicted of Child Sex Offences

NHS scheme granting women faster access to contraception
A new NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service has given women in South East England faster access to free oral contraception through local pharmacies, without requiring a GP or sexual health clinic appointment. Southampton guest house owners fined for planning breach
