Horsham electronics company marks 50 years in business
HUB Electronics, a Horsham-based supplier of electro-mechanical components and custom design solutions, is marking 50 years in business. The company has served UK and international customers across medical, transport, aerospace, marine, industrial and security sectors, while remaining based in Horsham and expanding to larger premises in 2006. Director Paul Latter highlighted the firm’s evolution from catalogue-based operations and telex machines to modern digital systems, while emphasizing that personal service and technical expertise remain central. MP says Lewes train derailment is a 'wake-up call' for rail
A Southern service traveling from London Victoria to Eastbourne derailed north of Lewes on August 13, overturning three carriages and injuring 30 people. An interim Rail Accident Investigation Branch report found a track geometry irregularity immediately before the derailment, along with evidence of prior maintenance and possible ground movement. Lewes MP James MacCleary called the findings a wake-up call and demanded clarity on track maintenance and investment. A full investigation and safety recommendations are still pending.

RAW Charging opens new electric vehicle charging hub
RAW Charging has opened an ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging hub at Chichester Gate Leisure Park in West Sussex. The site is described as the largest and highest-power charging hub in the area, with 14 bays comprising six 22kW fast chargers, four 150kW ultra-rapid chargers and four 300kW ultra-rapid chargers. Chief executive Jason Simpson said the project supports the transition to zero-emission transport. RAW Charging operates charging sites at destinations associated with organizations including the National Trust, Merlin Entertainments, McArthurGlen and Greene King, and recently received the Zapmap Best Destination Network Award for 2026.
