A vigil in Southampton was held in solidarity with people in Azad Kashmir amid months of protests over democratic rights and the cost of living. Organizers said around 60 people had been killed by government forces, while members of the local Azad Kashmiri community expressed concern for relatives and friends. Green member Nadia Ditta called on the UK Government to respond to alleged human rights violations; Councillor Matt Renyard and other residents also attended.

Southampton Hospitals Charity donated 2,500 yellow-and-black hand-held fans to the emergency eye department at University Hospital Southampton during hot weather. The ophthalmology team requested the fans to improve comfort for patients and staff, while also promoting the department’s Eye Emergency Telephone Triage service.
