Man steps inside tiny church and finds 'one of Scotland's most extraordinary treasures'
St Mary's Church in Grandtully, Perthshire, contains one of only two surviving 1600s painted church ceilings in Scotland still in its original setting. The ceiling, installed around 1636, features 28 decorative roundels depicting saints, proverbs, Stewart family achievements and biblical scenes. Highlighted by Scottish explorer John Murray, the former parish church is now a free year-round tourist attraction accessible by foot across working farmland near Aberfeldy.

Visit Scotland's only 'sail-thru' fish and chip shop boasting 'lovely' food and views
McMonagles in Clydebank is a fish and chip shop housed on a moored vessel on the Forth and Clyde Canal. It operates what it describes as the UK's first sail-thru service, allowing customers to order from boats at a canal-side hatch. The restaurant is also known for unusual menu items such as battered baked potatoes filled with macaroni cheese or steak pie, and has received strong customer reviews for its food, service and setting.
