Village with beautiful buildings and walking routes is 3 hours from Newcastle
Haworth in West Yorkshire is recommended as a scenic day trip from Newcastle, combining Brontë literary history with village shops, tea rooms and moorland walks. The roughly five-mile circular route passes through Penistone Country Park to Brontë Falls and Top Withens, a ruined farmhouse associated with Wuthering Heights, although steep steps, rocky ground and stiles make it unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The journey takes around 2.5–3 hours by car, while rail travelers can go via Leeds and Keighley before continuing by bus or taxi. Visitors are advised to arrive early, wear sturdy footwear, check attraction opening times and consider the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
