Although digital photography emerged approximately three decades ago, continuous advancements have reshaped its applications, scope, and security implications. The evolution of digital technology has revolutionized traditional photography, leading to significant improvements in camera systems, image quality, clarity, data transfer, and storage. However, the digitization of visual data has also introduced new cybersecurity challenges, including image manipulation, unauthorized data access, and metadata exploitation. Consequently, cybersecurity has become an essential component of digital photography, ensuring the authenticity, confidentiality, and integrity of visual content. From a technological standpoint, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity in digital photography enables automated image analysis, secure data transmission, and intelligent threat detection. These innovations not only enhance image quality and workflow efficiency but also strengthen digital resilience in an era dominated by Big Data and interconnected systems. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the developmental stages of digital photography while highlighting its growing relevance to cybersecurity and data protection in modern digital ecosystems.
