A Somali female farmer photographed in Bal’ad, approximately 40 kilometers from Mogadishu, Somalia, during my work as a freelance humanitarian field photographer.
While documenting farmers and local communities in the area, I approached her and asked for permission to photograph her portrait. She kindly agreed and posed for the photograph.
The portrait was taken as part of my documentation of the people and livelihoods of rural communities around Mogadishu. After completing the fieldwork, I returned to Mogadishu later that day.
