Sam K. is a journalist and environmental policy researcher based in Toronto whose work bridges science, public policy, and investigative reporting on Iran and the Middle East. His reporting and analysis focus on biodiversity, water governance, science policy, and the societal impacts of environmental change, including their implications for human well-being and human rights. He holds a PhD in Natural Resource Management, specialising in Spatial Ecology, from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He has worked with leading international and independent media organisations, including the BBC, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (Radio Farda), IranWire, and Iran International. He also appears regularly as an analyst on current affairs, environmental policy, and developments in Iran and the Middle East. Beyond journalism, Sam has directed three documentaries and is an avid wildlife and nature photographer, reflecting his longstanding commitment to conservation and environmental storytelling.
