Rolando Crespo Independent Journalist & Researcher based in Cuba

I am an independent journalist and researcher based in Cuba, specializing in social, economic, cultural and current-affairs reporting. My work focuses on understanding and documenting the realities of Cuban society through research, analysis, firsthand perspectives and human-centered storytelling.

I have experience researching complex topics, developing journalistic articles, analyzing social issues, verifying information and transforming extensive research into clear, accessible and engaging stories. My areas of interest include Cuban society and economy, everyday life, culture, history, education, public services, religion, tourism, technology and regional affairs.

Being based in Cuba allows me to provide local context and research that can be difficult to obtain from abroad. I can assist international journalists, editors, documentary producers, researchers and media organizations with background research, source identification, interviews, fact-checking, local reporting, article development and story research.

I work professionally under a byline and can provide private identity verification when required for legitimate professional, contractual or payment purposes.

My priority is accurate, responsible and well-documented journalism, with particular attention to the human dimension behind the facts.
